A 1996 graduate of NJ's prestigious Rowan University with a BFA in Illustration, with a triple minor in photography, drawing and art history, her work has taken her all over the world, most recently to London, where she captured the beauty of the city's rich architecture with a keen eye.
In 2001, she earned K-12 Art Education Certification from Philadelphia's Moore College of Art & Design. Through teaching Mary is able to share her passion for the arts and highlight its strengths to the community.
She has taught Art extensively throughout the New Jersey school system, at a number of different levels. The founder of 'Youth Art Month' in Bergen County, she chaired and grew the event for 3 years and brought art into the local community through the impressive celebration of local childrens' talents in drawing, painting and sculpture. Her involvement culminated in an event which brought together 60 different public schools for an exhibition, won an award for hosting the show at a commerical locale through her partnership with IKEA.
In 2004 she earned a grant with the Dodge Foundation and worked closely with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra to develop the curriculum for New Jersey, focusing on Art and Music. Shadbolt also delivered annual presentations at the AENJ (Art Educators of NJ) conference outlining her numerous achievements in the classroom to help new art teachers find their footing.
